I have James tentatively listed as a child of William Mapes and Jemima. James initially was in the unconnected file but due to his birth place and that William was the only Mapes listed in PA at that time I have listed him as a son of William - needs to be confirmed. William is descended from Thomas Mapes born 1628 who was the immigrant ancestor for most Mapes in the USA. This information is contained in the books and CD that I have published.
