My 97 year old mother remembers her father relating how as a boy of six he was very impressed by the tall cousin of his father who was visiting from London who attended his, my grandfather, sister's wedding. This would have been in Positano c.1880.This cousin had a pastry shop.My grandfather, Andrew Manzi immigrated to NYC c.1890.His father Ralph Manzi, a widower followed his sons to NYC, where he died.Ralph was in the construction business and while working in Positano married my great grandmother. His business was based between the two towns. The men of the family were all tall even by US standards. I am starting to work with my mom to record more of the stories.
