I am a 4th generation descendant of Tilman through his son John. My grandpa was a baby when Tillman was still living. He affectionately called my grandpa "brown eyes" and always said that he wanted "brown eyes" to have his gun when he died. I also have his memoirs. Otherwise, this is about all that I know.
The only information that I have heard about this Sally Brown is that the Senior Manus always said the woman was lying and, at least, when my grandpa was around, had nothing to do with her or her son. When I was talking with my grandpa more recently, he admitted that human beings have always been doing certain things and that this story could have happened.
