Charles A. Manuel is my gg-grandfather, so yes, I do know of this family.
Charles A. Manuel was born in VT.He moved with his family to NY before 1850 and he married there to Anna "Annie".A few years later they moved through IL., where my g-grandfather John Warren was born in 1859.They then came to Gallatin, Daviess Co., MO. with his brother David A. Manuel and his family.
David and family only stayed a short time and moved on to CA.Cahrles A. stayed and even bought David's land. His first wife Annie died and Charles married Nancy Fannin.
In the 1870 census they had moved to Caldwell Co., where He owned a Salon in Hamilton. They soon sold this bar and moved back to Daviess Co.
Charles Albert Manuel served in the Civil War durning a time in the 1860's.
He and Annie had several children and he and Nancy also had several children.
How can I help you? What is your connection to this family?
Perhaps we will be able to help each other find missing pieces on this family.
Lu
