Hi, I don't have a lot on the Mantles but here is where they start in my family. Henrietta Elizabeth Chapman, married William Mantle 10 Jan 1867 in Moniteau County, MO. I have not looked at census but need to check out several years. Henerietta was born 4 Sep 1847 in Missouri.Her parents are WM.Chapman, married to Eliza Mary Jane Owen. I do not have parents for him. Have emailed a person Marjoriw Swain and she has some information. We actually had the same picture of 4 sisters but she didn't their names. I scanned the picture to her before I knew she didn't know they names. On the front of the picture it tells who they are, pretty neat.
The Mantles had Robert E. Lee Mantle born 9 May 1876, ?Illinois, died 17 June 1926. These dates are from his headstone, he is buried at Bowman Cemetery, Craighead County, Arkansas, not 25 minutes from my house. He married a Mary L ???born in 1880 and died in 1942.I have a picture of the headstone of a Elmer H. Mantle, and I don't know where he fits into this picture but sure he does as they are all buried in the same area. He was born 10 July 1917 and died 26 June 1969. Number 2 child per my records is Elsie Evelyn Mantle born Nov 1878, died 24 Jan 1965 - she married Timothy Alexander Isbell and they raised their families in Craighead County, Arkansas and Bay, Arkansas in particular. I would visit with them across their fence as a young thing, as summer time was outside time for folks, get in the swing and visit with all who passed. haa Tim and Elsie Mantle Isbell had 12 children and many still around the Bay area.
