Hi Geoff

I have just found your message.
What you say is very intresting becuase the Mantell name is quite unusuall.
My fathers sister married Archibald Mantell in 1915 and they lived in Foleshill near Coventry. I have found out they had a daughter Joyce born in 1916.
I do no they lived in my grand mothers house after she died in 1933 for 3 years, they disappeared after 1936.
My grand mother lived in Sarehole Road Hall Green Birmingham.
I have found a Archiebald Mantell that fits mine who was born in St Germans in Cornwall in 1884.
When you are talking dates you have to bear in mind my dad was 60 when I was born in 1948 so my dad was born in 1889.
All the best John Briggs Birmingham
