I was wondering if anyone has any information on the possible parents and/or birthdate (or date of immigration to Canada if he wasn't born here) of a William J. HAMILTON who lived in Mille Roches, Stormont, Ontario, Canada. He died on 18 June 1847 by accidental drowning in the St. Lawrence River at Cornwall, Stormont County, Ontario, Canada. He was employed as a teacher and as a merchant. He co-owned with his father-in law (Hector Manson) or helped to run a tavern / inn in Milles Roches called 'Morgan's Inn'.
He married Isabel "Eliza" Manson, daughter of Hector & Eleanor (Campbell) Manson on 6 November 1834 at Trinity Anglican Church in Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario, Canada . Isabel "Eliza" Manson was born 18 September 1811 in Mille Roches, Stormont Co, Ontario, Canada and died on 12 November 1892 in Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario, Canada. After William's death, she married James Milroy.
