That's something to think about but I'm not at all certain that they aren't related. My reasons are these:

1. The picture of my husband's g grandfather and the grandson of Samuel Mansker are almost identical. The ears and the nose, especially, seem to cry to me that they are from the same lineage at some point. See
http://members.cox.net/ruhigenealogy19/Genealogy/Mansker-McDConnect.html

2. I recognize some of the names of the people you mention and they are related to the Bilderbacks. I suspect that the ones I don't recognize are also related. For example:

Harvey Clendenin was the husband of Getty Bilderback, sister to William Bilderback whose son (Francis Marion) and daughter (Jane Stewart Bilderback) were orphaned through William's death.

I don't, however, recognize Dwight Hunt, William Bailey nor John Leavitt.

Friend Bilderback who died in Dec. 1844 was also a sibling to William and Getty. Jane Bilderback was Jane Stewart, wife of Ephraim, who was the mother of William, Getty and Friend.

Dave Murphy MAY be the husband of Jane Stewart Bilderback's step-daughter, Lucinda Layne, who married an unknown (unknown to me) Murphy who died before 1850. In 1850, Lucinda Murphy was living in the household of Wiley Layne and his wife, Sarah. Jane didn't marry Wiley Layne until 1855 so I don't know the connection (if any) before that.

I appreciate the information, however, since this gives me more people to check up on and creates new possibilities to find new inforamtion.

Thanks again.

Thank you.
