Hi
I have indeed looked through the many manuscripts that I have here relating to the current house that I live in. A Thomas William Manchip resided here for many years. His wife's name was Caroline (nee Hosier) and they had three sons, Herbert, Alfred and William. Thomas Manchip was mayor of Bridgwater three times, once in the late 1800's and twice then in 1902 and 1903, possibly 1904 too, but I have only found this information once, so I am unsure whether this is correct as a Mr Pollard is listed elsewhere. Thomas William Manchip died on May 4th 1905. He was a cabinet maker by trade and had his own premises in 'Pricket Street' in Bridgwater which no longer exists. He also had an auctioneer and estate agency business in the Bridgwater area.
Not sure if this is any use to anyone but thought I would add it just in case.
