John; Hello- I decend, it appears, from Richard Manning of Dartmouth, Devon and his wife Anstice Calley. Richard's background is uncertain though there are some who think he might have been brother to the William Manning who settled in Massachusetts in the mid 1600s. Anstice was widowed and brought her children to Ipswich about 1679.
