Mary Ann,
Thanks for the compliment.I just wish I remembered how I figured it.You see, I have short term memory loss. Not good while doing this.
At lease now, I can guess from where the middle name Hester came in my Woolley family, even if I haven't found the connection. Also the middle name Lee in my grandfather Woolley's name.
Mom knew alot of surnames but that is all I got, and a little information is dangerous. But that list of surnames also includes Packard as well as Ireland and many more.
I also noticed you have a Woolley/House connection. That intrigues me.My gg-grandmother's sister married a House and gg-grandmother married a Woolley. Both of these women's surname WAS Dorsey.Elizabeth b 1821 m Joseph? House.Rhoda/Rachel married Thomas C. Woolley my gg-grandfather, father of my g-grandfather, George H Woolley b 1854 in NJ and then married in MO and raised his family in OH.My George married a Neal b 1855, and to my knowledge had 3 children: D. Lee Woolley/Wooley b 1879, Mary Edith, and Edward C. Woolley.
Something not yet proven, is that the father of Thomas C Woolley was a George Woolley.I also believe my gg-grandfather has a brother by the name of George Woolley as well as a son by the same name.
One of the siblings of my g-grandfather Woolley had the middle name of Hester.
Can you help me find a connection with all of the Woolley's?
