I am a great granddaughter of JAMES LORENZO MANNING who m NANCY ANN JACKSON all from Pike County Al I have researched these families for years and have compiled a book on them of 200 pp which I sell for $35 I keep no stock on hand and have to order each one special after I receive the order and the payment
My JAMESLORENZO MANNING was born 14 Nov1837 some records show Millville Butler County But by 1850 census of Pike the family is at Milo in Pike County WM HAMPTON MANNING and NANCY DENSON were the parents of JAMES L and your HARRIET Somewhere in my files I have a note from OCTAVIUS explaining hismothers situation but going on to show her descendants had gone on to live good productive lives No it does not reveal the father but it does have much information Censuses when the family was very young Civil War papers of myJames Lorenzo and his older brother Wm HenryEstate papers on Wm Hampton Manning who died very young 1855-56 with young children at homeHis estate Box 24 of the Troy Courthouse in Al is included and went on for a number of years as the children were too young to take care of any business themselves The only thing we have not verified is the father of Wm Hampton Manning their father b 1800 in NC but is not the Wm H who was a judge in early Pike I am going to include my book address if you decide you would like a book you can let me know In 1850 Wm Hampton Manning was age 50
Nancy Denson his wife 30HARRIET was age 2She was born about 1848 so she was only 8 when he died There were 11 children in WM HAMPTON MANNINGS family
