I don't know if I ever responded to your query regarding the Mann Family Reunion held in conjunction with the 12 Pioneer Families on the 3d Sunday September weekend in Lawrence Co. Mo.
This year's 78th Reunion (9/16/2012) has been moved from Monett City Park Casino to Freistatt Community Bldg, 105 E 3d St, Freistatt, Mo as a result of demolition and new construction of the old Casino after August 1, 2012.
Freistatt is located on Avenue H between Interstate 44 east of Pierce City and west of Mt Vernon, Mo.Avenue H intersects I-44 and Mo Hwy 60 in Monett, MO.
Our Oliver Perry Mann is the son of a John Mann who died in Barry County Mo about 1844-1845, and his widow Delilah remarried a year later and died in 1854. Her son Oliver P was her Estate Administrator. We don't know where John Mann was born nor the maiden name of Delilah but her 2d husband was a Johnston who survived her. Oliver Perry married Jeannette Moody, dau/o Isaac Moody and Malinda Bonner.
The families named Boucher, Bright, Cagle, Morris, Pruitt, Spilman migrated from origins of South Carolina and Virginia to Allen/Barren/Warren Co. Kentucky during the late 1790's toearly 1800's.Mann came from Indiana to Barry Co. that was renamed Lawrence County, May 1845.
Moody and Wormington came from Sumner Co. Tennessee to Lawrence Co Mo between late 1840's to early 1850's.Hewlett migrated from South Carolina to Hopkins Co. KY and a Hewlett son migrated from Henry Co TN to Barry Co in 1839 with is wife and children.
We have found Oliver P Mann was born in Vigo Co Indiana and his parents migrated from there to Lawrence Co. Mo.
Our Reunion was started in September 1934 and consisted of Boucher, Cagle, Morris, Pruitt family members of Kentucky. In 1947 it was learned the Bright, Hewlett, Moody, Wood & Wormington also had various ties to the other surnames as a result of intermarriages of siblings. It is now known as "the 12 Pioneer Families Reunion of SW Lawrence Co Mo".
There are 350 plus families currently in the membership with 1 or more ties to 1 and not more than 6 of the 12 surnames.38 States are represented of the 350 families who descend from any one or more of the 12 Progenitors.
Come and join us in Freistatt, Mo on 3d Sunday September 2012 and meet some new family cousins!
