Hi,Just chiming in on where the name confusion has occurred. The Anglo Mann family were settlers in the area thus Mann Settlement.Although names and ages are similar, the Francis Mann is baptized Francois Isek (aka Isaac, parents unknown) The area was Scottish, irish and census takers language there was English, writing their surname as Mann until 1881.Francois Isaac married Marguerite Morrison, not Francis Mann.Marguerite Morrison was metis. Her father was scotch John Morrison Jr.Who married marguerite Loisotte, she was miqmaq. Church baptism and marriage records are always needed to confirm both parents lines, especially since so many people had similar names.
Hope this explains what happened.I am from the John Morrison Sr. Line and had a lot of difficulty from the duplication. An explanation given to me was that native people were provided Anglo or French names and Mann may have been added because of the location name.I would love to get more info on the Morrison/ Isaac/Mann family records.
