Hi, Bobbie,
My James Mann was born 03 Jun 1793 and died 31 Aug 1832.His children gave both VT and MA as the place of his birth, but I have not been able to find him in either state. He married Anna Bockus, daughter of Abraham Bockus and Eunice Sweetland. There is a possible daughter, Marilla, born about 1811 and died about 1902 in Harrisburg, PA.She married Hiram Wilson in Cornwall, ON.His known children are:
William B. Mann married Mary Ann Bancroft
Charles Joseph Mann married Sarah Anna Ridall
Maria E. Mann married Benjamin Franklin Rose
Abram G. Mann died 1847 and buried with his parents
Charlotte Ann Mann married David Auchinvole
James Silvanus Mann married first Sarah (Sallie) Cline, married second Margaret Potts.
James Mann was an innkeeper in Osnabruck, Stormont County, ON at the time of his death. He was buried first in Woodlands East, but his stone (with wife Anna and son Abram G. on the same stone) was moved to Upper Canada Village to the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. There is a wall with the stones removed from various cemeteries embedded in it.
I did find a little more information which has allowed me to rule out the James Mann who was brother of Richard and son of Nathan and Judith, but maybe it will help you. This is from The Loaylists in Ontario, Sons and Daughters of American Loyalists, Page 320:
Twohey, John. Soldier, K.R.R.N.Y., m. Rachel.
Mary. OC 22 Feb 1808.
Eunice.OC 20 Feb 1808.
John of Augusta, b. about 1775. OC 8 Oct 1808.
Abraham of Augusta, b. about 1785. OC 8 Oct 1808.
Sanford of Bastard.OC 20 May 1817.
Susannah, m. James Mann of Bastard.OC 8 Oct 1830.
I'm sorry that I do not know what "OC" means, but I hope there is something here you can use.
Mary Lou
