Dear Barbara,
Wonder if you have anything in the Mann book about John Mann who was 61 in 1850 Fayette Co. Pa. census born Pa a farner
Married to Margaret 48 born Pa (Margaret was my g-g-grandmother, a widow when she married John
Their children on census:
Elizabeth Mann age 23
William Mann age 21 coal miner
Sarah Mann age 15
Harrison Mann age 9
Leticia Mann age 6 (in 1860 Census she was called Margaret and last name Schider, either a widow or divorced
William served in Civil War but do not know where he is buried.
In 1880 Census Harrison was a coal miner living in Allen Township, Washington Co. Pa with his wife Mary
Margaret had three children by her first husband who was killed after being struck by lightning when his twin sons were about 3 months old in 1824. Another son was a year or so older. These were all grown up of course by time of 1850 census but Margaret and John Mann lived close to Elisha Wheeler and his family in Jefferson Township, Fayette County, Pa. Elisha was my great grandfather.
Any help for would like to find these Mann half relatives.
Bernice Edmunds
