Hi Julia,I have done more research.I believe your great grandmother Esther Mann is the sister of Hiram Mann. Both would have been born in Brome, Quebec CanadaShe wuould be the aunt to Henry Mann Hiram's son.Hiram's parents are Isaac Mann born Sept, 1796 in NH (I believe in Coos, NH near Dixville Notch) Died 24 April 1843 and is buried in the Krans Cemetery at St. Armand West Anglican Church, Phillipsburg, Quebec.Isaac marries Sarah Thomas born in New Durham NH in the 1790's.She is not buried with Isaac, at least there isn;t a headstone.
I also believe that Hiram and Esther's youngest brother Warren Mann born in 1840 at Highgate VT marries a Harriet Clark Whitcomb. Perhaps a relative of Rueben Whitcomb who married Esther. No hard proof but the lookup service at Brome Historical Society said that their records matched mine, and I was guessing. The look up service said that Isaac and Sarah moved from NH and settled near Brome and called their section Manville.Isaac is a labourer according to the records of teh Anglican church. He moves to High Gate VT around 1839. Unfortunately for the Mann's a vein of Copper was found in the 1860's on the land they once had owned but sold to move to VT.THere was a very successful copper mine in Manville.Have you had anymore success in your queries?
