Yes, there are a lot of Manns I didn't know about, either.I guess my sisters and I are the only ones who had to hear "You're a Mann? You don't look like a man; you look like a girl".If I had a dollar for every time I heard that, I'd be richer than Bill Gates. Is your father certain he's German?Mann is originally a Saxon name, but not all Manns are German. At least some of the Manns of southeast West Virginia are Irish.My great-grandfather, John Joseph Mann, immigrated from Ireland in the 1870's with his brothers. I know that Edgar and Martin were two of their names.I don't know what county they came from or if it was just the 3 of them. I know that they lived in Hatcher, WV at one time, which I believe is in Summers County, next to Greenbrier.
