I have a written memorandum of my 1971 interview with my great uncle Thomas C. Mann, Jr. who was the source of the report that Harrison Mann relocated to Orange County Florida after the War of Secession. In re-reading it I believe his facts are basically accurate except that he may have interchanged the given names of individuals of former generations of the family. I know of some cases when he did that. He told me that his father Thomas C. Mann, Sr. had only two brothers and that one died in the War and the other moved to Orange County, Florida. I have confirmed from the censuses and other sources that Thomas C. Mann, Sr. had only two brothers, John F. Mann and William Harrison Mann. John F. Mann died in the War, which implies that Harrison was the one who moved to Orange County. However, my great uncle went on to say that one of the Mann boys who was NOT a brother of Thomas C. Mann, Sr. married a McAnnally. We know that Harrison was Thomas Sr.'s brother and married a McAnnally. The Mann sons of William B. Mann (brother of Henry F. Mann) were Henry b. 1839, James H. b. 1840, David C. b. 1841, Leany (male?) b. 1844, and Elenander Graham b. 1846. James H. and David C. Mann enlisted in the CSA Wilcox County rifles on its formation May 20, 1861. James m. Mary Coleman. David C. m. Louisa Johnson. Henry m. Mary _. I haven't learned whether or whom Leany or Elenander married. Quite possibly my great uncle did not have it exactly right. He was not born until 1886 so all his information had been passed down to him by others.
