Hello Katherine,
I am sorry I am not able to assist you in your search
for George or Edward Isaac Mann. I did find in the
1880 census of Waterville, VT, a Hiram Mann, born
1824, VT.The census lists his father and mother as
being born in New Hampshire. It further lists his
wife Katherine Mann, born 1824, Canada. One son named
Sherman age 15 is on the census whose mother is listed
as being born in Vermont. If Katherine was listed as
being born in Cnada and the son's mother is listed as
being born in VT, then it appears the Katherine listed
is not his mother and Hiram may have married a second
time.
My Esther Mann was born in 1826, Canada according to
the 1880 census of Johnson, VT, and it indicated
that her parents were born in New Hampshire.Esther
married Reuben Whitcomb of Washington, VT.Their
grand-daughter, my grandmother, Viola Whitcomb married
Elba Ross Stockwell of Waterville, VT.I remember my
father discussing a Henry Mann who was related in some
manner, I never found the relationship. If I find my
elusive Esther's parents in Canada or Vermont, I will
let you know.It does appear there may be a connection
between the two families.
Good hunting.
Julia
