Hi Michele,
Abraham Mann, Jr. is my g-grandfather.His father was Abe, Sr.They came to Vermilion County, Illinois from Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England.I am working on the Mann line in Bedfordshire, but am stuck with Abe, Sr.'s father, John Mann (b. 9/13/1760) and his father John Mann (d. 8/17/1754).
Abe, Sr. purchased farmland outside of Rossville (known then as North Fork). The farm was named Speedwell.Abe, Jr. had a brother John, a half sister Mary Ann and a sister Catherine.
I found Harley Reynolds in a book of Rossville Area Cemeteries. It shows that he is buried in Rossville cemetery.I would be happy to look up any other names that you think may be in Rossville.
There is a Mann Family Cemetery located in a field in front of the original homestead. There is a Julie Johnson (b. 4/24/1874; d. 7/3/1898) and Susan & William Merrill.Do you have any idea who these people were?
If you have any more details about your relatives working for the Mann family, I would be very eager to hear them.I don't know a great deal about their daily lives and would love to learn more.
Thanks,
Susan Mann Agusti
Danville, Illinois
