I have never found anyone researching Edwin and would like to know anything you might have about his ancestry.

d. 31 Mar. 1907 in Selma, Calif
(near Fresno) His and his
wife's headstones are quite
prominent in the Selma ceme-
tary
His wife, Jemima was born 8 Feb 1838 in Arkansas. d. 8 June 1897 in Selma. Her father was William. Her mother, Sarah was widowed and married Henry Coker in 1848. Shortly thereafter they travelled to California, over the Donner Pass to Grass Valley where Jemima and Edwin met and were married.
Edwin left New York and with his brother "King", stopping for awhile in Chicago. Edwin then went to Grass Valley to mine gold.
In the 1860 census they were in Hot Springs (now Calistoga)California. His obituary says that in 1861 he and his family moved to Porterville until 1879 when he moved tro Kern county near the site of Famosa. Not satisfied with conditions he moved to Fresno Co. in 1882 and setttled near Fowler, 1 1/2 miles east of the present town site. After leaving mining he devoted himself to agricultural pursuits and engaged in grain farming.. With his profit he turned to viticulture aand became a raisin grower almost until his death. The newspaper said, "he was a man of unquestioned abiity and sterling character, and his word was his bond. He lived to see the San Joaquin Vleeu develop from a treeless plain devoted to grain growing and stock raising into a great inland empire, covered with orchards, vineyards, homes, cities, towns and villages....By his death we are bereft of a good citizen, a kindly neighbot and a Christian friend; his chldren have lost a devooted father, and the worrld aGod-loving man whose life and works made it better and purer through the noble example he set."

Carrie A. b. 4 Dec 1872 d. 4 Aug 1874
Elsie Elnora "Nora b. 11 Dec 1875 in PLano (near Porterville) m. 27 June 1897 John Crawford Young in Fowler d. 23 Nov 1929 in Fresno.
I am descended from Elsie Elnora "Nora" She was my great grandmother. So any genealogy I have descends from her. I have no other information from the other brother and sisters. I would appreciate anything you find about Edwin's ancestry.
