Hi Kenneth, There are several things I have found in my Manley research that may give you a lead. First, Check out Message 2010- on this forum. It is from John O'Melia to me in response to my Manley's of South Carolina and Ga. post. It deals with the absalom Manley in Granger, TN. and where he came from. He is in the 1840 Census in Grainger Co., TN, age 30 to 40 with a wife age 20 to 30 and 4 daughters. He shows up again in the 1870 Census for Stubbenville, Jefferson Co., Ohio, as a 60 year old male born in MD, with wife Mary, son Markes and saughter, Louella. Another thing to check is the 1870 Census for Fosterville, Rutherford Co., TN. There is another Absalom Manley age 14 born TN., farm labor livinging with Elihu Bingham age 72 and his wife Mary Bingham age 64, both born in N.C. All of this could be useless facts, but they could provide a clue for migration if they tie in with yours. Diane Notify Administrator about this message?
