My great, great grandfather was John Manley born in 1835 in Chacewater, Cornwall, England. He appears in the 1881 Census of England living with his family in Tavistock, Devon, England (about 50 miles from Chacewater).

I believe your entry showing "ChaSewater" is probably a mis-spelling of ChaCewater. It is, still today, a very small community. It is unlikely that there is no relationship between Jane and John.

As John's birth took place prior to the start of Civil Registration (1837) in England I am having difficulty tracing more facts, any help you can give would be welcome.
