I find this odd, as Samuel C. Mankins was one of the original 11 children of Peter Sr. and Rachel.
S.C. md. Docia. Yes, he did die Mar.16.1881 in Williamson County, TX.
But how a Samuel (Jim) Mankins ties in, makes no sense. I have come across the reference to a Samuel J. Mankins more than once, but have backtracked and found it to be confused with Samuel C. (Does anyone know what the C. is for?) There are several confusions with Samuel C. and deceased dates..I have others also for 1881.
