Antonino Maniscalco - Poggioreale
Posted by: Lory Jones Date: June 07, 2001 at 13:49:25
  of 27

I am researching my family name. I am told they are from Poggioreale or a city with the same sound. My great-grandfather was Antonino Maniscalco, born approximately 1864, and he married a Margarita DiLorenzo from Rome. He was a farmer and raised almonds, olives and goats. There is a possibility that his land was lost in a volcanic eruption. He emigrated temporarily to New Orleans, LA approximately 1912 but returned to Italy soon after. He had several sons, Rosario, Antonino, Francisco, "Sam" and possible another.
Any help you can be to me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lory Jones
