Nicholas M. “Nick” Maynhart
SAND CREEK — Nicholas M. Maynhart, age 68, of Sand Creek walked into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in Flower Hospital.
He was born Nov. 23, 1939, to Nicholas and Anna (Kerekes) Maynhart in Toledo. Nick was employed with the Jeep Corp. and Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years. He was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 38 years. In his younger years, Nick enjoyed rabbit hunting with his dad and fishing with his son, Michael. He was also fascinated with aviation and as he grew older, Nick enjoyed watching the planes fly overhead. Most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, with whom he had just celebrated 40 years of marriage, Nancy L. (Dickerson) Maynhart; son, Michael (Amanda) Maynhart; daughter, Rebekah (Jonathan) Gebhardt; granddaughter, Lydia Gebhardt; six siblings and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Road, Toledo, (419-473-0300) and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Road. Funeral Services will begin Friday at 11 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Snyder. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Ogden Township Cemetery, Blissfield.
