The following returns are taken from the Newport Parish Vestry Book, 1724-1772, Isle of Wight county. They were transcribed from a photostatic copy in the Virginia State Library, Accession No. 19758. While the returns give 1723 they should be read 1723/4, falling in January of the "new" year.
