Hi Joyce--My name is Jack Street . My mother was Lydia Anne Daniel,Dau. of Lucy Mangum Daniel. What is your line? How did you come to know of the dispute between the Luna family and the Mangum Family? I am 80 yrs. old and I was told the following by a cousin b. 1910 and confirmed by Lucy's youngest dau. May, who was b.1900. According to them, James Mangum and another man were out in a field when they were approached by a man named Luna. An argument ensued about some hogs that were running on open range and Luna shot James. As he lay dying he handed his gun to this man who was with him and said. He has killed me and now it is up to you to kill him.Lucy lived in Paragould and was a cook in the railroad hotel there. There was a certain man who would come for a visit in subsequent years and it is said that Lucy always gave him the red carpet treatment. It was surmised that this was the man who had dispatched the Luna who had killed her brother (Jim) James. Then I heard another story that it was James brother ,Ed.( Howell) who had taken care of business . Perhaps we will never know. Jack
