There is an exciting new Mangham book being released soon. The title is "Oh, For A Touch of a Vanished Hand" Discovering a Southern Family and the Civil War by Dana M. Mangham. This is a well-researched, wonderful combination of Mangham genealogy and 19th century Southern history/Civil War. There are 37 different Manghams (three who enlisted in Pike Co., GA) featured in this 800 page book. All Manghams will want to read it. It is also extremely interesting to anyone interested in the 19th century south or the Civil War.
Dana Mangham will be making appearances and signing books in GA in August.
Mr. Mangham will be at the Molena Nursing Home in Molena, Pike Co., GA at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2000. At this time he will speak and sign books and meet as many of his Manghams as possible. Anyone interested is invited.
On August 8, 2000 he will be at the Georgia Department of Archives and History in Atlanta, GA from 12:15 to 1:15.
It is my understanding that the books are $24.95 (+ $3.00 S&H per book) with discounts for multiple books.
