Glad to hear that you are visiting Metz and Pierrevillers! You will love it there. I went in 2000 and 2002 to research. In Pierrevillers, the old boys and girls school is the town archives. I do not know if he still works there, but a man named, Gerard Bourgeois, assisted us. He was even a likely distant cousin. I have not been in contact with him for a few years. My family left Pierrevillers circa 1762, and moved to Saarlouis, where I still have a couple of cousins, with whom I am very close. In 1882, my great-great grandfather came to the US. Please, feel free to call me anytime if you have any questions. I live in Columbus, Oh, and my number is 614-284-6094.
