I found that William Mangan was suspected of Fenianism in Ireland and left for England. He married young, in Durham England, then went to Philadelphia and worked as a Cooper (cask and barrel maker) in the 1850's.
Margaret Connell claimed to have descended from "The Great Dan O'Connell". She had a younger sister Elizabeth Connell who married a Mr.McCabe. The family was from Killco or Killcock in either Co. Meath or Co. Cavan. Ireland. John Mangan was a drover (cattle driver) for a time. He died in Ireland in 1840 after spending 6 months in jail for running a distillery. Hope someone can connect with some of these clues. I would love to find out what happened to William Mangans family in PA.
