Theresa(or other spellings) MANGAN, & James MAHON, both born circa 1832in Ireland & were married in Ireland, probably Co. Cork. Their first two children were born in Ireland, probably Co. Cork, Michael in 1853 and Edward in 1855. This family came across the pond either to Canada or U. S. before 1860. Their 3rd child Mary was born in Ohio, then this family settled in the copper country of Upper Michigan and the next 7 children were born there. Houghton became their home, where most of them lived and died. There were other Mangans in that area. I have been unable to locate ANY records of the birth dates/places of Theresa & James, Michael & Edward, nor the marriage record of James & Theresa. Her father POSSIBLY could have been an Edward Mangan and her mother's maiden name possibly Redmond. The Michael Mangan and Thomas Mangan in Michigan at about the same time COULD be related to Theresa. Please contact me directly at pepperjaq@sbcglobal.net.
