Thank you for the information on Permelia, wife of William G. Manes. I have found that his second wife, Lydia Bilderback "Creacy" Manes is also buried at the Lewis Cemetery. She is listed on marker as being born Jul 4, 1839 (I know this took place in Clay Co, IN, same as Permelia). She died Jul 20, 1934 in Pulaski Co, MO. She states in 1910 census that she had five children, but only two were living at that time.

I have been able to locate info on two of William's children, William Robert Manes and Albert C. Manes. William Robert Manes m. Matilda Young approximately 1883 or 84 in Pulaski Co. I found him in Johnson Twsp, Carter Co, MO in 1900 census, ED 37, p. 5, line 99. They had the following children: Jesse E. b. Sep 1885 MO; William R. b. Jan 1890 in MO; Harrison R. b. Jan 1895 in MO; and lastly Andy E. b. Jan 1898 in MO. I need to search further census for this family.

Albert C. Manes m. Monica (nickname-Nica) Johnson. She was b. abt 1880 in Michigan. They were married bet. 1901-1903 prob. MO. He appears in 1910 census in Ventura, CA with a daughter, Lillian D. Manes b. 1903 in MO. I found Monica Manes listed in the 1920 census in Los Angeles, CA with her daughter and her mother (Elizabeth). Monica is listed as a widow. I then checked the California death register for Albert C. Manes, but cound not find him. It may not have been registered. I did find Lillian D. Manes listed as having died Sep 17, 1928 in Los Angeles and is listed as single. I am presuming that Albert died sometime between in 1910 to 1920, but have not found where.

Since the Pulaski courthouse burned in 1903, I am not certain how to find out what happened to the daughter of William G. Manes and Permelia Bilderback. If you have any thoughts on the matter, please let me know. I am not that far from Jefferson City, so I can check again on further records. They do have deeds and probate, but I didn't check the dates. I checked Camden Co for records, but their courthouse burned in 1902, so no luck there, even though I know William had lived in Camden Co prior to 1900.
