I am looking for information that might confirm my assumptions

Samuel MANER born in Onslow County, North Carolina and was around three years old when the family moved to South Carolina. In October 1771, Samuel applied for and was granted 100 acres of land in St Peter Parish. Samuel became a planter, eventually owning plantations on both sides of the Savannah River. He was also a cotton factor in a partnership called MANER & EWING. The business was located at Matthews Bluff, SC.

In 1772, Samuel married Mary MAY the daughter of John MAY and Mary STAFFORD MAY of Pitt County, North Carolina.

Sometime after June 1808 Samuel moved to his 4,300 acre plantation, Lebanon Forest, Effingham County, Georgia. The home he built there burned but his descendants erected a new house on the site. It is now called Wade Plantation.

By most accounts Samuel had (3) three daughters, Anne, Sarah, and Mary. One account that I have also indicates that he had a son who died young.

Sarah MANER, born 1776, died Sept. 13, 1838, at Gainesville, Ga., where she is buried. She married lst the Rev. John CRAWFORD; and 2nd the Rev. Peyton L. WADE on Sept. 23, 1823. She had no children by either marriage.
Anne MANER, born Nov. 2,1780, died Oct. 30, 1852, buried in the Robert family cemetery in Robertville, SC She married John Hancock ROBERT.

Mary MANER, born Jan. 25, 1785, died Oct. 11, 1827, married in 1802 William Henry ROBERT, brother of John Hancock ROBERT. They had a son and three daughters.

The 1790 Beaufort County Census lists a Samuel MANER,
1 white male Over sixteen
1 white male under sixteen
4 white females.
This Census supports the account that Samuel had a young son who would have been born between 1774 and 1790. This also indicates a wife and three daughters

The 1800 Beaufort County Census lists a Samuel MANER,
1 white male 26- 45
1 white male over 45
1 white female under 10
1 white female 16-26
This Census indicates that the “young son” lived at least till he was 26. The one white female 16 to 26 would have been Mary MANER who married in 1802. The one white female under 10 is not recorded anywhere else. This could be Rachael MANER, who was reportedly born in 1794. It is possible that her mother, Mary MAY died in childbirth or soon after.

Rachael MANER married John LEE around 1811.

I am a descendent of theirs.
