Hi there,
I have some genealogical notes on the mandeville family of Bergen, NJ from my grandfather, John Kirkpatrick Jr.:
John Mandeville was born in june 24th 1781 and died in March 28th 1815, in Bergen NJ. He married a woman by the surname of Van Winkle, no further info. I cannot find any further connection here.
They had a son named John Mandeville, born in Bergen on May 28th 1815, and who died on April 24th 1859 in Bergen. He married a woman by the name of Mary Margaret Heaton, who was born in New York (City?) in August 20, 1815 and died in NY on Sept 30th 1873.
Johna nd Mary had a daughter named Margaret Eliza mandeville, born in Tuscarora (?), Lee Co. Iowa, on April 12th 1844, and died in Riverside, (NY?) on november 29th 1935. she married John Howard haviland, who was born in New york on Oct. 4 1829, and died there on Nov. 29 1895.
they had a daughter named Marguerite "Daisy" Haviland, born july 11 1875, and died on jan 2 1959 in Redding CT. She was married on Sept 11 1900 to John Kirkpatrick, born in New york on feb 14th 1859 and died there on August 4 1928.
They had two sons, Thomas kirkpatrick and John Kirkpatrick jr, who was my grandfather. John was born in New York on march 18th 1905 and died in Ithaca New York on Nov. 8th 1990.
