Interested in your quest. From my researches I discovered that about the same period the Mander family name acquired the "S".
My family was centred around the Pontypridd area. Several of the sons worked down the mines. I have traced back the source of the family to George in Wakefield. I have been stuck trying to find a lead.
Your family may also have acquired the "S"
