Dear Tim,
I was thrilled to bits when I came across your posting quite by chance. I have recently started to do some family history research for my stepmother, whose maiden name was Mander.
Her late father was called George Thomas Ridge Mander and his father before him had Ridge in his name (both born London area). There was also an 'Uncle Charles' with the Ridge name. You can see why I was so thrilled!
The family doesn't seem to know a great deal about it's roots (or where the Ridge came from) so I would love to hear from you either on genforum or by email. I'm sure there are connections and any help you can give would be greatly appreciated as, unfortunately, there are now no 'older generation' Manders in the family left to ask.

Cheers,

Jackie
