I think we may be researching the same family. Our group, Sterling-Rock Falls Hist. Soc. is restoring a home in Sterling that was owned by James E. Mananahan, ca. 1777-1859. His son William, 1806-1886, also lived there in 1856 when he hosted Lincoln overnight. They both came from Lancaster and settled in Sterling.
