Hi Josyanne,
As I mentioned in my email the name was most likely Cauchi and not Cachia. This has been confirmed by Father Joe at Cospicua parish.
If this is the Giuseppe that I am searching for then there are a couple of things of note here:
1. His marriage record actually hold his name as PISANO. This is by no means a strange thing as names were often changed over time. I need to find the birth/baptism record of his son Salvatore (I currently only have his Marriage record - 1845 to Carmela Barbara in Cospicua). His Marriage record specifically names him as a Pisani.
2. If Giuseppe Pisano was married in 1793 then the date gap is greater than I would have expected, although still possible. There are 52 years between the marriage of Giuseppe and the marriage of his potential son Salvatore. This could be possible if Giuseppe married young, Salvatore was one of his later children, and Salvatore himself married fairly late in life. I am pretty certain that if I can find Salvatore's birth/baptism record then I can confirm or reject all of this!
Thanks!
Laurence
