Hello, I am quite new to this surname and was wondering if anyone else out there maybe researching the same.

Also I am new to researching my Irish roots as well.

I found out a couple months ago that my GGG Grandmother name was Bridget Malowney, and she was born in Ireland in 1836.I do not know where or what county, that is what I would like to find out,and who her parents are.

Bridget in the 1900 census was 63years old so I am assuming she came here in 1858?
I tryed figuring it out myself,if she was born in 1836 and at 1900 she was almost 64yrs old,if you add her birth + 22yrs then I got the 1858 on her arrival to the states.

The census is kind of hard to read, and to think of all the carrots I ate as a child.I believe it says that she was at 1900 census here in the states 42yrs.

She married my GGG Grandfather Edward Moran(which is really spelled Morahan)he was also born in Ireland not knowing what part, and also in 1836 as well.In the 1900 census they were married 39years which I assume the marriage year would be 1861.

They had 7 children the first 2 being a mystery to me,one was listed as a Kate in the 1880 census,my cousin and myself assuming the other in 1870 census.

From the 1880 census Edward and Bridget's children are:
1 Kate b 1863

2 Harriet b.1864 and d 1947 she married William Forsyth
Children:
William and Margaret Forsyth

3 Mary Ann b.1865 and d.1936 she married George H.Johnson
Children:
George L,Ella,Edna Mary,Edward Johnson

4 Edward Jr.b 1869 and d 1914

5 Anna b 1871 and d 1920 she married George Searing Doty(My GG Grandparents)
Children:
Harriet,Phebe,Catherine,Helen Doty

6 John b. 1875 and d. 1965?? he married Anna Mc Nierney
Children:
Edward,John,Anna,Catherine,Joseph,Raymond,James Morahan

Thank you for taking the time out to read this posting, hope to hear from anyone soon,be well take care and god bless.
