Your help would be fantastic! John Thickston, who is mentioned in the account of the attack, was a scout for John Floyd of Floyd's Station in Kentucky. He was involved in another Indian attack a few years after this one called the Westerfield Massacre. I am trying to find where he was living before he came to Kentucky and possibly his parents. He died in Bullitt Co. KY in 1807.

His son, also, named John, is mentioned in Kentucky records in the late 1800's and migrated to Knox Co. IN and fought in the Indian Wars there and changed the spelling of his name to Thixton. His son, also named John, fathered my great grandfather, John Henry Thixton. John Henry eventually moved to Greene Co. AR where my grandfather, Isaiah Thixton was born. John Henry along with Isaiah relocated to Big Spring TX where my father, Clyde Thixton was born.

Again, your help would be GREATLY appreciated. I live in Oregon so can't go to Wisconsin to see the original documents.
