David Lee Malone, 49, of Greeneville, TN, died Saturday,
July 18, 2009, at his home, Greene Co TN. He was a son of
the late Johnnie Malone.
Mr. Malone was first employed by his oldest brother, Eddie
Malone, owner of Malone's Cleaning Maintenance.
He had worked for Franklin Furniture Company in Greeneville.
Mr. Malone owned his own cleaning/maintenance business,
where he continued until he became disabled.
His family provided the following statement: "Mr. Malone
loved his children very much and did everything in his
power to care for them. His children were his life.
"He devoted his last few years of life, living with his
mother and caring for her. He loved her dearly as he loved
his brothers and sisters and the rest of his family. His
brothers and sisters were so important to him.
"He shared the stories of good and sad times with family.
He was good at telling jokes and making people laugh. His
'unique' laughter is still heard by his family and friends
throughout this time of loss.
"David would always tell you he loved you each time you
talked, no matter where he was or who was around. He is
sadly missed by his family and friends. His nieces and
nephews will always remember the things he said to them,
even as he laughed and told things that he and their
parents did as they grew up.
"He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being with his family
and friends. He was musically talented at playing drums
and guitar. He was an avid UT Volunteer fan. He supported
all the family children at their ballgames."
Survivors include his loving mother, Della Mae Malone of
Greeneville TN; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie
and LaWanda Malone and Luther and Dianne Malone, all of
Greeneville, TN, and Tommy and Dawn Malone of SC; two
sisters and one brother-in-law, Carolyn and Terry Massey
of Mosheim, TN, and Verna Mae McKinney of ALA; several
special nieces and nephews; and a number of friends,
including his special friends, Jerry 'Leo' Yates, Bobby
'Cushman' Young, Ronnie 'Mickey Slush' Kessler, Judy
Renner, Lynn Devoti, Bill and Mary Mitchell, Lynn and
Brenda Chandler, and Dave Weems.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.,
Friday, July 24, 2009, at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation
Service.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday
afternoon, July 25, 2009, in the funeral home chapel. The
Rev. Mike Harmon and the Rev. Tim Jarrett will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Foshie, Bobby Young, Frankie
Bledsoe, Daniel Weems, Rick Hall, and Jerry Yates.
Interment will follow in Caney Creek Primitive Baptist
Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to
help defray funeral expenses.
