Rufus 'Doug' 'Papaw' Malone, 72, Greene Co TN, of the
Greystone community, died Monday, September 15, 2008,
evening after a courageous battle with cancer at Life Care
Center of Greeneville.

Mr. Malone served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Parker
Hannifin. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 692 and an
avid sports enthusiast.

He was a son of the late Oscar and Susie Malone and was
preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Malone, Schobert
Malone, and Robert Malone, and three infant sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Callie Sue Malone; a daughter
and son-in-law, Cynthia and Larry Robbins of MISS; a
stepdaughter and son-in-law, Renee and Randy Dunbar of
Chuckey, TN; five grandchildren, Kaeley Robbins, Trey
Robbins, Caden Robbins, Brock Dunbar, and Codey Dunbar;
his brothers and sisters-in-law, H. B. and Mary Malone of
Greeneville, TN, and Earnest Malone of Sneedville, TN; his
sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Billy McAmis, Betty
Britton, and Clara Malone, all of Greene County, TN, and
Charlotte and Carson Wallin of Greeneville, TN; his mother
and father-in-law, Junior and Della Sue Gray of Greeneville,
TN; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends,
Earl Gilliam, Donnie Morelock, Doug Altizer, Eddie Munsey,
Lloyd Holt, and Nick McNeese.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8
p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday
afternoon,
September 18, 2008, in the funeral home chapel. The Rev.
Jay Hugh Jennings will officiate.

Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
A military graveside service will be conducted by the
Greeneville-Greene County Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Willie Dunbar, William Dunbar, Randy
Dunbar, Carson Wallin, Jarred McAmis, and Nick McAmis.

Honorary pallbearers will be his caregivers at Smoky
Mountain Hospice, the members of the Moose, and Bud
Bailey.
