PS: William Dunham Stewart of TN, father of Julia and Marcella who married John Franklin Mallory, performed marriages and various ceremonies in the town in which Matilida lived.
Personally, I'm wondering where "Dunham" came from. That family in America arrived as the "Singletarys" having made a name change to escape England. Later, Jonathan Singletary began using the old family name after removing from Newbury MA to New Jersey and later the family went to South Carolina and eventually Kansas where Stanley Anne Dunham grew up. She was the mother of Barack Obama.
Elizabeth mallory, daughter of Jasper Benjamin Mallory, married a descendant of Jonathan Singletary's niece, Susannah Singletary, second wife of Cpt Richard Bartlett, first cousin to the second signer of the Declaration of Independence.
