MALLONS FROM PORTADOWN, ARMAGH, IRELAND MID 1800s
My great grandfather William John MALLON was born in Portadown, Armagh, Ireland about 1860 according to his Marriage Certificate. We have no idea when he arrived in Australia and know very little about him. His parents names are given as Charles Mallon (farmer) and Amelia Marshall. We have no knowledge of siblings but assume there could very well have been some. Surely there has to be someone out there who has a connection. His children's birth certificates all give the name of MALLON also. He died in 1912 when his four children were all very young and his widow remarried very quickly. Unfortunately, nobody ever seemed to know anything about him. Sadly, he has been buried under the surname of MALONE and I am anxious to rectify this but to do so I must have some documentation that will prove his surname was MALLON. So far all efforts to locate his birth certificate or other information have proved fruitless. Can anyone help me? I would be extremely grateful for any information no matter how insignificant it might seem. Thank you
