Mrs. Mallon Has 85th Birthday. Mrs. Archie Mallon of Ironton will be 85 years old on Monday, Sept. 8th, and the event is being celebrated with an open house on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 14th, from 2 to 4 o'clock at the Hickory Grove school. Her children and grandchildren invite all friends and relatives to greet her at this time.

Jane Mallon was born at the Manion farm in the town of Winfield, Sept. 8, 1867. She taught school before her marriage to Archie Mallon in June, 1892, and has resided on the Mallon farm ever since in the town of Ironton. She is in remarkably good heatlth for one of her years and keeps house for her son Barkley. She also has three daughters, Mrs. Andrew Yanke, Mrs. Floyd Hehenberger, and Mrs. Elmer Hehenberger, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

BARABOO NEWS REPUBLIC, Baraboo, Sauk County, WI, published Saturday, Jan. 23, 1960; Page 4:

Mrs. Mallon Dies Friday. Mrs. Jane Mallon, 92, of Rock Springs, passed away Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Andrew Yanke of Leland. Mrs. Mallon suffered a stroke on Wednesday morning from which she never recovered. She was a resident of the town of Ironton most of her life, having moved to Rock Springs six years ago to make her home.

Surviving Mrs. Mallon besides Mrs. Yanke, are another daughter Mrs. Elmer Hehenberger of Baraboo; one son Bartley of Rock Springs; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends including a sister-in-law, Mrs. Pat Manion of the town of Winfield.

Funeral arrangements having not been completed at the Scheible funeral home.
