From the Topeka State Journal, Topeka, KS, Monday September 24, 1945, page 13:
Mrs. Mary Brogden, 91, longitme resident of Kansas, and a former resident of Topeka, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edna Quinlan of Tribune.
Born March 28, 1954, in Philadelphia, she came to Kansas when ten years old and had lived in the vicinity of Topeka 50 years.
She is survived by a son, Arthur Brogden, of Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. J. L. Petty, of Topeka, and Mrs. Quinlan, of Tribune; a brother, Jack Mallon, of Waverly; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The body will be brought to Topeka for burial.
