I am researching an Austin Malia who was married to a Sarah Kane before 1830.THey had a daughter Mary E. Malia born 1830.SHe later married Michael Gorman and immigrated 1851 with their infant daughter to Cinncinati, OH.In 1862 the family settled in Morocco, Newton Co. Indiana.
In my search to try and trace them back in Irland I have found that the Malia family comes from the Clew Bay region of Co. Mayo. There are many Melia families from the Achill Isle which is at the North end of the bay.
