Hi John....It's comforting to know that others have a Malley/Melley dilemma going on ;o) My gt-grandfather DENNIS MALLEY was born in Ireland (probably northern) in 1835. He came to America (yr unknown)and worked on railroads in NJ and Pennsylvania. We know only a little about him, and nothing at all about his parents or siblings...not even names. He disappeared from Pennsylvania in 1895, after the early death of his wife, never to be heard from again. Oddly enough, his wife was buried as Sarah Jane Melley. Their daughter was my maternal grandmother. Bottom line: Just wondering if there was anyone named Dennis in your grandfather's Donegal line. By the way, did your grandfather come from an area called Altadoo in Killymard/Donegal?
